PorthcurnoPorthcurno is located just 3 miles from Lands End. With its golden sand and turquoise sea the beach is one of the best in Cornwall. Owned and managed by the National Trust, the area is offically designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Carved out of the granite above the beach is the famous Minack Open-Air Theatre. Surfing & Body BoardingPorthcurno and nearby Sennen Cove both offer excellent surfing. Lessons and boards can be hired at Sennen Cove. Check out The Sennen Surf Centre for more details. FishingThere is a great fishing mark accessed from the rocks on the western side of the beach. Rods and tackle can be hired from The Cable Station Inn. Sea Bass, Mackerel and Pollack can all be caught from the rocks. Diving & SnorkellingThe are some excellent dive sites in the local area including Logan Gully and Seggy Rock in Porthcurno Bay. Boats and diving trips can be arranged with Silver Dolphin and Lands End Diving Sea KayakingSea kayaking in and around Porthcurno bay is a fantastic experience. Dolphins and seals can often be seen in the bay and if you are really lucky basking sharks sometimes come in close to the shore. WalkingThere are many beautiful walks in and around the Porthcurno area. Most notably the South West Coastal Path which passes over the cliffs either side of the beach.
